Beta Club is an academic organization, that focuses on instilling in young people the need and desire to serve others. Members of the Beta Club are required, locally, to maintain a 92 average to be a member of good standing from year to year.Along with maintaining a 92 average they must also participate in the required service projects for each school term.
The local chapter of Beta here at Jones County High School works diligently to support local no kill animal shelters in the Jones County Area. We support these shelters be donating dog food, towels, blankets, and bedding for the homeless pets housed in the shelters. Last school year the members of the Beta Club collectively donated over 1500 pounds of dog food for local animal shelters.
Jones County Beta is also involved in different service projects throughout the school year. Students have collected can tabs for the local Ronald McDonald House and for Relay for Life. We have also collected donations through a "Pennies for Patients" drive to raise money to help find a cure for cancer.
